This Privacy Policy applies to the eTempMail Android application published on Google Play under package name net.etempmail.app (the “App”). It explains what information the App and our servers process, why, how long it is kept, and the choices you have.
The App is a free client for disposable / temporary email. It talks to our service at https://etempmail.net over HTTPS. The website has a separate website Privacy Policy. If you use the website as well as the App, both policies may apply.
By installing or using the App, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, uninstall the App and do not use it.
1. Who we are
eTempMail (“we”, “us”) provides temporary email addresses so you can receive messages without using your personal inbox. The App does not create a personal user account, password, or Google sign-in. You are not required to register to use the free App.

2. Summary (Google Play Data safety)
In plain terms, this version of the App:
- does not require you to create an account or give us your real name, phone number, or personal email;
- creates and polls temporary email addresses and shows messages sent to those addresses;
- stores some data on your device only (preferences, address history, offline message cache);
- uses the internet to talk to etempmail.net;
- may show a local notification when new mail arrives (optional; permission requested only for that);
- does not currently load ads in the published build (see section 8);
- does not use your camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, precise location, or files you did not choose to share;
- does not sell your personal information.
Temporary inboxes are not private in the way a password-protected mailbox is. Anyone who knows the address can request its mail through our service. Do not use a temp address for highly sensitive personal data you must keep secret.
3. Information the App processes
3.1 Temporary email and messages (needed for the core feature)
When you use the App we process:
- the temporary address the App generates or that you choose (username + one of our domains);
- messages delivered to that address: sender name/email, subject, date, body (including HTML), and attachment file names/URLs;
- message identifiers used to open, cache, or delete a message.
This data is fetched from our servers so the inbox can work. We do not ask for your personal inbox password. Mail you receive is whatever third parties send to that disposable address.
3.2 Data stored on your device
The App stores locally (SharedPreferences and app-private files), for example:
- current temporary address and a short history of addresses (including optional labels and favorites);
- settings: dark mode, auto-refresh, new-mail alerts, onboarding completed;
- IDs of messages already seen (to avoid repeating alerts);
- an offline cache of recent inbox lists and opened message bodies (so you can reread mail without a connection);
- counters used only on-device for “rate us” and update-reminder timing (launch count, whether you already rated, last prompt time).
This on-device data stays on the phone unless you copy or share it. You can erase it in Settings → Clear local data. Uninstalling the App also removes app-private storage.
3.3 Technical data on our servers
API requests from the App reach etempmail.net. Like most internet services, our servers may log technical information such as IP address, date/time, user-agent, and basic request metadata to operate, secure, and debug the service. These logs are not used to build an advertising profile of you and are not sold. We do not store your IP as part of the temporary mailbox record itself.
The App authenticates to the public temp-mail API with a service access token configured in the App. That token identifies the App as a client of our API; it is not your personal login.
3.4 App version checks
The App may call our version endpoint so we can tell you if a newer build is on Google Play. That request includes that you are using the Android App; it does not send your Google account.
3.5 Information you choose to copy, share, or export
If you tap Copy, Share, QR, or Download message, the App uses the Android clipboard or the system share sheet. A downloaded message may be written as a temporary HTML file and handed to the app you pick (Files, Drive, email, etc.). Those destinations have their own policies. We do not receive a copy of what you share unless you send it to us (for example by emailing support).
3.6 What we do not collect in the App
- no name, real email, or password for an App account;
- no payment card numbers (the free App has no in-app purchases);
- no precise GPS location, contacts, SMS, call logs, photos library, or microphone;
- no analytics SDK such as Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics in this App;
- no background tracking of other apps.
4. How we use information
We use the information above only to:
- create, show, refresh, and delete temporary inboxes and messages;
- remember your last address and settings on the device;
- show optional new-mail notifications while you use the App;
- let you copy, share, or save a message you asked to export;
- check whether an App update is available;
- keep the service secure and working (including abuse prevention);
- respond if you contact support;
- comply with law.
We do not use temporary mailbox content to target you with marketing. We do not sell personal information.
5. Android permissions
The App declares:
- Internet / network state — required to create addresses and fetch mail;
- Post notifications — requested only if you keep “New mail alerts” on, so the App can show a local alert when new mail arrives while the App is running. You can turn alerts off in Settings or in Android system settings.
The App does not need and does not use camera, contacts, location, or storage access to your personal files except temporary files you choose to share.
6. Notifications
New-mail alerts are generated on the device from mail the App already fetched. They are not push messages from a third-party marketing system. Subject and sender may appear in the notification shade. Disable the setting or deny notification permission to stop them.
7. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher digital-consent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Do not use the App if you are under 13. If you believe a child has used the App in a way that left data with us, email [email protected] and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
If ads are enabled in a future update, ad requests are configured as not child-directed and not for users under the age of consent.
8. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK and is designed to show one banner ad only (no interstitial or rewarded video spam) when production AdMob units are configured.
Current Play Store build: ads are not loaded while Google sample / test ad identifiers are still configured. Advertising ID permission is not used in that configuration, and the App does not send ad requests.
If a later update enables production ads:
- Google AdMob may process device identifiers (including Advertising ID where allowed), IP address, and approximate location derived from IP, and may show personalized or non-personalized ads according to your choices;
- in the EEA, UK, and other regions where required, a consent form (Google UMP) may appear before personalized ads;
- you can reset or opt out of ad personalization in Android settings (Google → Ads) and, where shown, in the in-app consent form;
- Google’s policies apply: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps.
We will update this page and the Play Console Data safety form if ads are turned on.
9. Third-party services
The App may communicate with:
- eTempMail / etempmail.net — temporary email API and message storage as described above;
- Google Fonts — the App may download fonts from Google to render the interface;
- Google Play — if you tap Rate us or an update link, you leave the App and open the Play Store;
- Google AdMob — only if ads are enabled (section 8);
- WebView / external browser — HTML in received emails is shown in a WebView; links and attachments you open may load third-party sites. Those sites have their own policies. Treat unexpected links as you would in any email.
We do not control third-party sites linked from mail you receive.
10. Sharing
We share information only:
- with infrastructure and hosting providers that run etempmail.net;
- with Google, if ads or fonts / Play Store flows apply as above;
- when you yourself share content through Android;
- if required by law or a valid legal request;
- with professional advisors under confidentiality when needed.
Temporary mailbox contents can be retrieved by anyone who uses the same address on our website or API. Treat those inboxes as public for privacy purposes.
11. Retention
- On the device: until you clear local data, change address, or uninstall.
- Temporary mail on our servers: kept only as long as the product’s inbox rules allow, then removed as part of normal operation. You can delete individual messages in the App. Creating a new address does not always wipe mail already stored for the old address on the server; delete messages you no longer want.
- Server logs: kept for a limited operational / security period unless a longer period is required for an investigation or law.
12. Security
The App uses HTTPS to reach our API. On-device caches are stored in app-private storage. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. You are responsible for what you send to a disposable address and for devices that can open the App.
13. Your choices
- Turn off auto-refresh or new-mail alerts in Settings.
- Deny or revoke notification permission in Android settings.
- Delete messages or switch to a new temporary address.
- Use Clear local data to wipe addresses and cached mail on the device.
- Uninstall the App.
- Email [email protected] to ask about data we hold on our servers related to a temporary address or a support request.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request. Because the App does not use a personal account, we may need the temporary address or enough detail to locate server records, if any still exist.
14. International processing
Information may be processed on servers in countries other than where you live. Where we transfer personal data, we take steps appropriate to the circumstances and applicable law.
15. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or our practices change. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. The current version will always be published at https://etempmail.net/app-privacy-policy. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
